Digital Detective Group Ltd., a provider of leading digital forensic software, is pleased to announce that Tina McDonald will be joining us as a Director and Senior Forensic Software Engineer. Tina has been involved in the forensic recovery of digital evidence since 2005 and prior to joining Digital Detective Group, she was employed as a Digital Forensic Analyst with Kent Police Digital Forensics Unit.
Tina has now joined Digital Detective Group as a Director and will be managing the research and implementation of new software projects. She has been trained in advanced digital forensics from establishments such as the National Hi-Tech Crime Training Centre based in the Specialist Law Enforcement Training Centre, the Centre for Forensic Computing at the Defence College of Management and Technology at Cranfied University and from Guidance Software, the manufacturers of the forensic software EnCase.
Tina has also been trained in mobile phone forensics and holds .XRY and XACT Certification from Micro Systemation. Whilst with Kent Police, Tina played a key role in the research and development of a mobile phone forensic capability and successfully managed the proof of concept pilot.
Tina graduated from Hull University with a Bachelor of Science Joint Honours degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Since graduating, she has worked as a professional software engineer with over 20 years experience in this field. Tina’s experience includes working as a software engineer for Racal Research, Orbitel Mobile Communications, GEC Marconi and Group 4 Securicor. She has been involved in a variety of projects, including ASIC design, defence radio communications, GSM and PCN digital mobile communications and GPS satellite navigation systems. She also played a major part in the design and development of a European wide security bureau which monitored automatic vehicle location (AVL) and proof of presence (POP) tracking devices.
She has detailed knowledge in all areas of the software development process, her work having involved such activities as requirements capture, specification, design, implementation, testing, customer acceptance and end user support. She has also managed software development projects and supervised a large team of software engineers.
In addition to her Bachelor of Science degree, Tina recently graduated from University College Dublin with a First Class Honours, Master of Science degree in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation. She is also a professional member of the British Computer Society.
